Napa Wine Class delivers world class wine education in the San Francisco Bay Area and Napa Valley.
Monika Bielka-Vescovi is a Napa Valley–based wine educator known for clear, confidence-building instruction grounded in the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT) and real-world, sensory learning.
As a WSET-trained, WSET-certified wine professional and educator, she helps students move beyond “just liking a wine” into understanding why it tastes the way it does—linking structure, aroma, and style to grape variety, place, and winemaking choices.
Through Napa Wine Class, Monika leads guided tastings, comparative flights, and immersive learning experiences designed for everyone from curious beginners to developing professionals preparing for WSET wine courses.
Her teaching style is practical and welcoming: structured enough to build accuracy, but approachable enough to keep learning fun. WSET-focused qualifications & teaching strengths WSET-aligned instruction using the SAT framework (appearance → nose → palate → quality → readiness for drinking) Strong focus on tasting calibration: acid, tannin, alcohol, body, sweetness, and finish—so students can describe wines with precision
Experience teaching blind tasting technique and helping students build reliable tasting memory Passion for Napa Valley terroir and translating AVA differences into what you’ll actually taste in the glass
What you’ll learn with Monika Monika’s classes help you: Taste with structure and confidence using the WSET method Identify key markers for major grape varieties and styles
Understand how climate, soils, elevation, and oak choices show up on the palate Build a personal tasting vocabulary that works for exams and for real life Why students love her approach Monika blends exam-ready structure with the energy of an in-person tasting. You’ll leave with repeatable steps you can use at home, in restaurants, at wineries, and in study groups—whether you’re learning for personal enjoyment or pursuing WSET credentials.
